Artcore, Derby

A lovely mini residency at Artcore, in the heart of Derby. I found a new direction here – making connections with string, then rope, building abstract repeatable patterns. From there I pushed the lines out into the space and pulled them back to a single point, at one stage attaching the room to the outside so the building looked tethered to the ground. I also had fun making self-contained rope pictures, which reminded me of the gold thread pin pictures that were everywhere in the 80s.
