Junkstop

New Mills Festival

A creative recycling project across New Mills, part of New Mills Festival and funded by Arts Council England. I was lead artist, with the project managed by Maureen Jordan. Through the summer I worked with local artists running workshops in schools, at New Mills Originals, Springbank Arts and other venues, showing people how to turn waste materials into things that were useful, playful and sometimes even beautiful. I supported each artist in their own workshop, then pulled the results together into a sculpture trail around the town. Every piece and every maker is documented at junkstop.wordpress.com.
